This advanced pattern uses feltable heavy weight wool and sport weight wool yarn on size 10 ½  and 1 regular circular needles, size 4, D and J crochet hooks. The pattern is completed using stockinette stitch (the purl side is the right side), short rows, intarsia technique and I-cord stitch. A few simple crochet stitches including chain stitch, single crochet, half double and double crochet are used to add finishing touches. Rick's Puppet Dragon is made with approximately 170 yards of main color (purple green and blue blend) heavy weight wool yarn, 35 yards of light pastel orange heavy weight wool yarn. I used 45 yards of light sport weight light yellow wool for the back ridge spikes and wings. I used approximately 35 yards of light orange and dark green sport weight yarn for spikes and details on the belly. Feel free to work in whatever colors you like. There are few registered Dragon breeders around to argue conformation. Plastic 15 mm yellow or orange cat eyes complete the dragon’s details.
