This advanced pattern uses heavy weight wool that is feltable.  The main pattern is worked on size 10 1/2,   circular needles, you will also use size 1 and 7 needles, as well as a size 4, D and J crochet hooks. The pattern is completed using stockinette stitch (the purl side is the right side), short rows, intarsia technique and I-cord stitch. A few simple crochet stitches including chain stitch, single crochet are used to add finishing touches. Esmeralda is made with about 140 yards of main color deep emerald green wool, 65 yards of light weight seafoam green wool for the belly and wings. I used 25 yards of light weight maroon wool for the back ridge spikes, and details on the belly. Feel free to work in whatever colors you like. There are few registered Dragon breeders around to argue conformation. Plastic 9 mm yellow cat eyes complete the dragon’s details. Several pipe cleaners twisted together and threaded through the wing frame help support the wing. Evangeline the draggling uses much of the same pattern, but her egg pattern is not included here. Evangeline is worked in worsted weight double ply yarn on size 3 needles. Draggling alterations are found at the end of the pattern
