Niyol Tsoh (Navajo for Big Wind) the Appaloosa is an intermediate pattern that is worked in heavy weight wool yarnon size 10 ½ circular needles. This pattern is worked in stockinette stitch, and uses intarsia and short rows, and some simple embroidery stitches. This pattern is fulled after it is completed, so yarns used must be feltable wool yarn.  This pattern uses 150 yards of heavy weight gray , and 100 yards each of white and black yarns
