Rosie is an intermediate pattern made with feltable wool/mohair yarn, using size 10 ½ needles and approximately 25 yards of tan wool for the hooves and horns, and 150 yards of the main color wool/mohair blend. (I often use a single strand of lock spun white mohair and a double strand of white wool yarn)– Mohair alone does not retain it’s shape and will fall apart during machine washing (I tried it!)  The udder is made with approximately 2 yards of pink wool (without mohair). This can be white wool that is felted separately, and dyed after felting, or pink wool that is added to belly and felted with the completed animal.  The pattern is worked mainly in stockinette stitch, and the purl side is the right side.
