This is an intermediate pattern, worked in heavy weight wool yarn on size 10 ½ circular needles. The optional collar pattern is worked in sport weight yarn on size 1 needles)  This pattern is worked in stockinette stitch, intarsia, latch hook, and short rows.  Latch hook technique and simple chain stitching are used for detail work.  The knit side will be the right side.   This pattern uses 100 yards of brown(br), 50 yards of heavy weight straw(s), and silver black(sb), 20 yards silver gray(sg), and approximately 5 yards heavy weight pale pink, 20 yards black(Bk), 10 yards med pink sport weight yarn for tongue.  You will also use approximately 50 yards pre felted sport weight straw colored yarn for facial fringe.(Collar-optional approximately 50 yards of heavy weight wool yarn in red and 5 yards of beige sport weight yarn.  The finished project is then fulled.  18mm brown eyes are added after felting.  You will need a #16 embroidery needle or similar needle, and small crochet hook.
